** UPDATE**
\n The two deceased have been identified as a 21 year old woman and a 23 year old woman, both from the Swan River area. Their names will not be released. Police continue to investigate.<\/br>
\nOn October 24, 2011 at 11:30 p.m. Swan River RCMP as well as local Emergency Services were dispatched to the scene of a fatal single vehicle collision on Highway 10 near the junction of pr 279, north of Swan River.<\/p>\n

Initial investigation indicates that a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am was north bound on highway 10 when it left the roadway, rolling over at least once.<\/p>\n

There were 4 occupants in the vehicle, an adult male and 3 females.<\/p>\n

Two females were pronounced deceased at the scene. Police are awaiting confirmation of their ages and identities.<\/p>\n

A 25 year old woman from Swan River was transported to hospital with undetermined injuries.<\/p>\n

The driver, a 50 year old man from Swan River, was transported to hospital with undetermined injuries. He was subsequently arrested for Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Death.<\/p>\n

The accused has since been released from custody. He is facing charges of Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Death x 2 , and Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Bodily Harm. He scheduled to appear in Swan River Provincial Court on December 21, 2011.<\/p>\n

An RCMP Traffic Collision Analyst attended to assist with the investigation. The highway was closed for several hours in order to conduct the investigation.<\/p>\n

Alcohol and seat belt use are considered to be factors in this fatal collision.<\/p>\n
