Important Updates

We have been asked to share the following information:

\nCleanup<\/strong><\/p>\n

Christian Aid Rapid Response Team and Samaritan’s Purse is a free service. These groups will be in the communityu and will remove items from your home, clean out the remaining water and sludge, demo drywall, carpets etc. and disinfect. If you need assistance in cleaning out your basement or home, please register with the office and we will connect you with a team for clean up.<\/p>\n

The Kinsmen will have a clean up crew in town today starting at 11:30am. They will be using their truck and trailer to make landfill trips.<\/p>\n

The Minitonas Landfill is open from 8am until 4pm today. You can take household garbage, burnables, electronics and appliances that do not have coolant (no fridges or freezers). A plan for furniture, carpet, fridges and freezers and will be communicated early next week. <\/p>\n

Supplies<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Visitor Centre will be collecting any donations, anything and everything, clothing\/toy\/everything drive. The residents of Minitonas can come to the gym and grab whatever they need or want, doors will be open to the gym at 7am June 13, 2026 with the tables set up.<\/p>\n

You can order groceries through Swan Valley COOP to be delivered to Minitonas, by phone, Monday to Friday at 204-734-6006 or Saturday at 204-734-3431 ext. 267 or by email: foodorder@swanvalleycoop.ca. DO NOT USE INSTACART. Groceries will be delivered to a central location and we will reach out or drop off when they arrive.<\/p>\n

Due to the tremendous generosity of LP, The Lions Club, The Kinsmen, the Province of Manitoba & Cargill, we will have food hampers available for Minitonas residents early next week. Thank you to Swan Valley Coop for putting them together for us.<\/p>\n

Other Information<\/strong>
\nThe EMO Disaster Financial Assistance (DFA) Inspectors and coordinators are set up at the MEYS Visitor Center. If you do not have insurance make sure to go see them. <\/p>\n

If you need anything or have any questions, please contact the Municipal Office or go to the Visitor Centre at Minitonas Early Years School. The Visitor Centre is open from 7am to 7pm today. They have snacks, drinks, and are providing lunch and supper. The Visitor Center will be movinb from MEYS to the Minitonas Arena on Monday June 15th. Tomorrow will be the last day for the Visitor Center at MEYS so the day care can have their space back. <\/p>\n
