Northwest Region<\/strong> Provincial Overview<\/strong> \u2022 Normal (based on the 30-year historical average) precipitation since Nov. 1 ranged from 43 mm to 128 mm across agro-Manitoba. Percent of normal precipitation varied across the province with areas receiving as low as 36% (Minnedosa) compared to the 30-year average, while others were 114% of normal (Petersfield). <\/p>\n \u2022 Provincial seeding progress is about 3% complete which is slightly ahead of the 5-Year average of 1% for Week 17. <\/p>\n \u2022 Statistics Canada1 spring seeded report for Manitoba has forecasted:
\nField conditions remain saturated in the Roblin and Dauphin area as they received precipitation mid-week. Conditions have improved in the Swan Valley region. Field prep operations have begun, and there has been a small amount of spring wheat seeding in the Swan Valley area. Drier conditions are needed this week for other areas to begin seeding. Fall rye and winter cereals are in good condition. <\/p>\n
\nPrecipitation accumulations were variable across agro-Manitoba over the past seven days. Isolated rain and snow resulted in accumulations varying from 0 mm to 43.9 mm. Reston received the most precipitation with 43.9 mm <\/p>\n
\n– Spring wheat projected to be at 3.22 million acres (2024: 3.18 million acres seeded).
\n– Canola projected at 3.12 million acres (2024: 3.34 million acres seeded).
\n– Soybeans projected at 1.63 million acres (2024: 1.43 million acres seeded). <\/p>\n
