The Board passed the Final 2020-2021 Budget on March 9, 2020. Within the budget, the Board has added small<br \/>\nadditions in WSH, resource, guidance and work experience with a special levy increase of 1.25%.<\/p>\n<p>2. The Board celebrated some of the accomplishments of the students at SVSD including the great work of our skills<br \/>\ncompetitors moving to provincial competitions in April, our curling teams that went to provincials, and our junior<br \/>\nboys and varsity girls basketball teams going to provincials. They also acknowledged the work of one of our<br \/>\nstudent teachers working with our students from \u00c9cole during his spring break at the Festival du Voyageur. A<br \/>\nreminder to schools to please send in the special events to the Division Office.<\/p>\n<p>3. The Board discussed the information sent out on the Coronavirus and the possible ramifications for SVSD Students<br \/>\nand Staff.<\/p>\n<p>4. The Superintendent discussed that three student teachers are in SVSD from Brandon University right now, with<br \/>\ntwo more coming from St. Boniface and one from UCN after Spring Break.<\/p>\n<p>5. The Board discussed a report on the status of certified and noncertified teachers within the Division including<br \/>\nsubstitutes.<\/p>\n<p>6. The Board looked at the current year budget update in a presentation by the Secretary-Treasurer.<\/p>\n<p>7. The Superintendent reported that the next Workplace Safety and Health meeting is next week. The majority of<br \/>\nschools will have their inspections done by their local WSH member and Bob Gaiser, a WSH specialist, before this<br \/>\nmeeting.<br \/>\n_____________________________<\/p>\n<p>Minutes of the regular meeting of the Board of Trustees held in the Division Office Board Room on<br \/>\nMarch 9, 2020 commencing at 7:00 p.m. (unapproved)<\/p>\n<p>The following were present:<br \/>\nVice-Chair: G. Rausch<br \/>\nAbsent: L. Evans<\/p>\n<p>Resolutions:<br \/>\nR1 V. Rooks, K. Riehl:<br \/>\nTHAT the Minutes of the regular meeting of February 24, 2020, be adopted. CARRIED<\/p>\n<p>R2 K. Highmoor, V. Rooks:<br \/>\nTHAT as per the Report of the Secretary-Treasurer, 9.2, general cheques numbering 55567 to<br \/>\n55672, B 895 to B 902 and transfers (bank fees) and EFT\u2019s, which includes general and payroll<br \/>\nin the amount of $1,609,784.47, for the month of January, be approved for payment. CARRIED<\/p>\n<p>R3 D. Burghart, V. Rooks:<br \/>\nTHAT as per Item 9.3, the Report on Capital Disbursements, be received and the payments<br \/>\noutlined, ratified. CARRIED<\/p>\n<p>R4 D. Burghart, K. Highmoor:<br \/>\nTHAT the Report of the Secretary-Treasurer, 9.5, on the 2020\/21 Budget, be received and the<br \/>\n2020 Special Levy be established at $8,041,665 (12.857 mills) and the 2020\/21 Budget as<br \/>\npresented, be approved. CARRIED<\/p>\n<p>R5 K. Riehl, D. Burghart:<br \/>\nTHAT the Board move to In-Camera. CARRIED<\/p>\n<p>R6 K. Highmoor, D. Burghart:<br \/>\nTHAT the Board move out of In-Camera. CARRIED<\/p>\n<p>R7 V. Rooks, K. Riehl:<br \/>\nTHAT the Staffing Reports of the Superintendent\/CEO, 8.2 and 19.1.1, be ratified. CARRIED<\/p>\n<p>R8 V. Rooks, D. Burghart:<br \/>\nTHAT as per Item 19.2.5, the transportation request be received and denied. CARRIED<\/p>\n<p>R9 K. Highmoor, D.
