On October 18, 2018 experts from RBC Royal Bank, Dominion Securities and Oakes Law Office held a Legacy and Estate Planning presentation discussing the foundations of creating a will, the importance of planning for the unexpected and what it means for loved ones. <\/p>\n

Estate and Legacy planning comes with making tough decisions, these decisions do not need to be final. Families that plan to leave an inheritance plan to divide their legacy with fairness, rather than equality cannot be done without a will and without a plan. Matters on what happens when a plan is improperly structured, and ways to create a better outcome were also discussed. <\/p>\n

There are many variables when looking at an estate and drafting a will. Laurie Oakes provided a handy checklist for everyone to help simplify the will process. An explanation between the types of wills and the power of attorneys was presented. There will be future events on these topics, it his highly encouraged for those that couldn\u2019t make it to reach out to the presenters directly as these are the matters that they want to discuss with you and your family as soon as possible. Creating a lasting legacy and helping safeguard your estate from tax erosion is something they are there to help you with. <\/p>\n
