Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council of the Rural Municipality of Mountain held Wednesday, August 8th, 2018 in the R.M. of Mountain Council Chambers in Birch River, Manitoba.

\nCAO Paige Larocque was present and acted as secretary.
\nFinance Officer Kim Paterson was also present.<\/p>\n
The meeting was called to order at 10:15 A.M. by Reeve Marvin Kovachik, quorum \tbeing present.<\/p>\n

\nTHEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council of the Rural Municipality of Mountain \tapprove the purchase requests as per Schedule \u2018A\u2019 attached hereto.

\nRESOLVED THAT Cheque Nos. 20180903 to 20180970 be approved for payment \tin the amount of $80,926.32, including Council Indemnities in the amount of \t$4,932.95 as per By-Law 03\/16 and Direct Deposit Payroll in the amount of \t$4,482.22 as attached hereto as Schedule \u2018A\u2019;
\nAND FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED THAT the direct payment amount of $7,749.81 \tfor Receiver General for July 2018 be hereby approved.

\nBE IT RESOLVED THAT Council of the Rural Municipality of Mountain hereby approve the Letter of Understanding between the R.M. of Mountain and Prairie Mountain Health Authority as per Schedule \u2018A\u2019 attached hereto;
\nAND THAT the Chief Administrative Officer be authorized to sign on behalf of the Municipality.

\nBE IT RESOLVED THAT Council of the Rural Municipality of Mountain hereby accept the offer to purchase Lot 3, Plan 1058, in Pine River, MB [Roll #75000.000] from Earnie Serwa in the amount of $3,012.48, plus transfer costs.

\nBE IT RESOLVED THAT Council of the Rural Municipality of Mountain hereby accept the offer to purchase the following parcels of land from Bison Conservation for the reserve bid totaling $65,732.50;

\nSW 5-33-20W [Roll #102700.000]
\nSE 5-33-20W [Roll #102600.000]
\nSubject to the following Conditions:
\nReceipt of the purchase price, paid in full;
\nPurchaser is responsible to transfer costs and shall ensure that title is transferred within 90 days as per R.M. of Mountain Land Sale Policy.

\nWHEREAS Turtle River Watershed Conservation District is an infrastructure district and Intermountain Conservation District is a non-infrastructure district, and as such have differing mandates;
\nAND WHEREAS the Province of Manitoba has not provided concrete advantages to the supporting municipalities, the boards and staff of both Turtle River and Intermountain, sufficient to justify the amalgamation of these two Conservation Districts into one;
\nAND WHEREAS the costs associated with the proposed boundary realignment will take away from the respective mandates of each Conservation District;
\nTHEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT Turtle River Watershed Conservation District and Intermountain Conservation District continue to operate separately without merging.
