The Council of the Town of Swan River met on Tuesday, September 19th, 2017 at\u00a07:30 pm in the Town Council Chambers with\u00a0Mayor\u00a0McKenzie presiding and Councillors Friesen, Whyte, Moriaux and\u00a0Delaurier present. \u00a0

4 Delegations and Hearings<\/p>\n
4.1 Delegation: RCMP
\nSgt. Steven Hensen and Cpl. Ross Hannah attended the meeting\u00a0to answer some questions from Council.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Reservist program is finished on September 25th.\u00a0 Sgt. Hensen has submitted a request for an extension and has also requested that the detachment retain the services of the\u00a0local person currently assigned to the program.\u00a0 A letter of support from the Town would be beneficial.\u00a0Council\u00a0will discuss these matters\u00a0with RCMP “D” Division at the AMM Convention in November.<\/p>\n
Foot patrols were done when possible.\u00a0 The Reservist made an effort to do foot patrols at different times.<\/p>\n
Loud mufflers are still an issue.\u00a0 The detachment doesn’t receive many formal complaints about this issue.\u00a0 They ask that the public phone in license plates and descriptions of vehicles with loud mufflers.\u00a0The public is encouraged to bring forward complaints even if they are not emergencies.\u00a0 The best phone number for this is 734-3454.<\/p>\n
