The Council of the Town of Swan River met on Tuesday,\u00a0August 2nd, 2016 at\u00a07:30 pm in the Town Council Chambers with\u00a0 Mayor\u00a0McKenzie presiding and Councillors\u00a0Moriaux, Friesen, Whyte, Jacobson, Delaurier\u00a0and Sakal present.\u00a0\u00a0

4 Delegation: RCMP Report \u2013 Corporal Ross Hannah
\nCorporal Hannah advised that extra traffic enforcement was in Town for\u00a0Rodeo weekend.\u00a0 29 ticket\/infractions were\u00a0handed out.\u00a0<\/p>\n
With regards to the graffiti in town, he asks the public to take pictures and pass on along any information that could help the police determine who is defacing property.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
He is hopeful that there will be an announcement about the reservist program in about 2 weeks.\u00a0 He believes that\u00a0reservists are deployed for up to 6 months at a time to do part time work.\u00a0 Council advised that there\u00a0is a group of troubled kids taking over the Skatepark in the evenings\u00a0and intimidating the younger kids.\u00a0 Some kids are now choosing not to go to the park.\u00a0 Corporal Hannah asked that the public contact the RCMP office when\u00a0this group of kids are at the Skatepark so that they can send a member over right away\u00a0if possible to deal with the situation.<\/p>\n
\u200bCouncil advised that the presence of the RCMP members in the Legion Park and other areas of Town where they have been on foot patrol is greatly appreciated.\u00a0 Lots of positive responses have been received from the public.<\/p>\n
