On May 4, 2016, six legislative assistants were appointed by Premier Brian Pallister to work with newly named cabinet ministers.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese six members of the legislative assembly will offer important counsel and support to our team\u2019s new cabinet ministers,\u201d said Pallister. \u201cTheir experience will inform many of the decisions made by our government and I am joined by all members of cabinet in thanking them for their commitment to our province.\u201d<\/p>\n

The position of legislative assistant is filled by MLAs in caucus in order to support cabinet ministers and also provide the assigned MLAs with experience associated to cabinet.<\/p>\n

The named legislative assistants and their appointed cabinet ministers are:
\n\u2022 Janice Marie Morley-Lecomte (MLA – Seine River)
\n\u2013 Families Minister Scott Fielding;<\/p>\n

\u2022 Kelly Robert Bindle (MLA – Thompson)
\n\u2013 Growth, Enterprise and Trade Minister Cliff Cullen;<\/p>\n

\u2022 Andrew John Mickelfield (MLA – Rossmere)
\n\u2013 Health, Seniors and Active Living Minister Kelvin Goertzen;<\/p>\n

\u2022 Derek Wayne Johnson (MLA – Interlake)
\n\u2013 Infrastructure Minister Blaine Pedersen;<\/p>\n

\u2022 Sarah Lyn Guillemard (MLA – Fort Richmond)
\n\u2013 Sport, Culture and Heritage Minister Rochelle Squires; and <\/p>\n
