On Monday March 7, 2016 the Skaters of the Swan River Skating Club, showcased their skating talents, to songs that celebrated the many stages of “THE GAME OF LIFE”! <\/p>\n

Our coaches Alexis Denischuk and Taniesha Hubsher were very proud of our Canskaters as they delighted everyone with their new skating skills and big smiles. In their group and solo performances, our Future Stars and Star Skaters also entertained our audience with their jumps, spins and footwork which showcased their creative and technical skating skills.<\/p>\n

Samantha Ashcroft. Kayden Monych, Dan Thomas and Isabella Immerkar (missing Nixon Bell) started the show off by celebrating school days with their version of “ABC” followed by Jasmine Rose skating to “Playground of Life.” Anna Borowski and Addison Turton (missing Laryssa Mychalchuk) celebrated the Barbie years to ” I am A Barbie Girl!” and Taniesha Hubscher presented her skills to “The Tango of Love”. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Our future graduates, Kalli Lumax, Regan Squires, Elizabeth Makyeyeva, Sierra-Lee Paterson, Madden Lamb and Ayla Poole marched onto the ice to the graduation song ” Pomp and Circumstance” and Deegan , Atticus and Kadence Campbell and Nava Mousavi partied to “Saturday Night by The Bay City Rollers! <\/p>\n

Emily Simpson started off the second half of our program with her interpretation of first love with Taylor Swift’s song “Fifteen”. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a> Our energized Future Stars, Kemi Bulycz, Anika Sakal and Jenna and Katie Smith, made working look easy as they skated to Dolly Partons , “Working 9 to 5” followed by Erica Forsyth’s solo performance to “Confident” by Demi Lovato. <\/p>\n

The bells were ringing for Zachary Carter, Daria Brandson and Gracie Bell as they skated to “Chapel of Love” followed by Alexis’s Denischuk’s solo salute to “All the Single Ladies!” by Beyance.
\n<\/br>
\nLeena Badowski and Mylee-Rae Rain, celebrated the ‘golden years” with their very entertaining rendition of “When I Am 64”! and our Star Skaters, Jasmine Rose, Emily Simpson, Erica Forsyth, Taniesha Hubscher and Alexis Denischuk , brought our carnival to a close with a message to all the single young men as they skated to “Dear Future Husbands”! <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a> <\/p>\n

Thank you to The Swan Valley Co-Op and Star City Cinema who donated popcorn and a movie pass for each of our skaters.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/br> Awards were given to Mylee-Rae Rain as our Canskater of the Year, Madden Lamb received the Carissa Kowal “Spirit of Skating Award, Katie Smith was our Future Star of the Year, Erica Forsyth was Star SKater of the Year.
\n<\/br>
\n<\/br>Taniesha Hubscher was recongnized for placing 3rd in her flight at Provincials and Alexis Denischuk was recognised for passing her Gold Level Dances. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>
\nOur Program Assistants, Jenna and Katie Smith, Jasmine Rose, Emily Simpson, Erica Forsytha and Brooklyn Makasoff were also thanked for their dedication to our Canskate Program.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/br>A very special and greatly appreciated presentation was also made to our Club. Kalli Lumax, on behalf of The Sports Lounge, Blosha Farms, Fire and Ice and Atkinson Sports Excellence, presented our Club with a cheque of $500 from the profits of their weekly Friday Night Meat Draws.
\n<\/br>This very generous donation will assist our Canskate Program in many ways!<\/p>\n

Thank you to, the dedication of our Skaters, Coaches and Program Assistants; the organizational skills of Michelle Smith and Amanda Yaschyshyn our Carnival Chairs; the dedication and creativity of all of our parents and the support of many friends and family members who cheered on our skaters throughout the night!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
