On June 12, 2015, at approximately 6:45 pm, Swan River RCMP received a 911 call of a possible shooting at a residence on Heyes Street in Swan River.<\/p>\n

Officers from the Swan River RCMP attended the residence and located an 18-year-old Swan River male, who had injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. <\/p>\n

The victim was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, where he is currently listed in stable condition.<\/p>\n

While officers secured the scene, information was obtained about a possible suspect who fled in a vehicle belonging to one of the residents. Later the same evening, police received a call of a vehicle fire north of Birch River matching the description of the vehicle taken from the residence.<\/p>\n

Officers located the suspect a short time later, and he was taken into custody without incident.<\/p>\n

Nikko GUIBOCHE, 19, of Swan River, has been charged with:<\/p>\n

Attempted Murder W\/Firearm Sec. 239(a) CC
\nAggravated Assault Sec. 268(2) CC
\nCareless Use of Firearm Sec. 86(1) CC
\nDischarge Firearm W\/Intent Sec. 244 CC
\nUnauthorized Possession of Firearm\/Prohibited Weapon Sec. 91(3) CC
\nWeapons Possession Contrary to Order Sec. 117.01(3) CC
\nFail to Comply W\/Undertaking\/Recognizance (2 counts) Sec. 145(3) CC<\/p>\n

Guiboche remains in custody until his next scheduled court appearance on June 23, 2015, in Dauphin Provincial Court.<\/p>\n
