On July 16, 2014, at approximately 5:00 am, Winnipegosis RCMP executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) warrant at a residence in Camperville, Manitoba.
\n<\/br>
\nPolice seized a significant amount of marihuana, as well as a large sum of cash and six firearms. An adult male and an adult female were arrested at the residence; charges are pending. The owners of the home were not at the residence at the time, but Peter Paul Chartrand, 58, was arrested a few hours later. Sharon Lynn Chartrand, 53, was arrested July 17, 2014.<\/p>\n
Peter Chartrand is facing charges of Possession of Proceeds of Crime, Unsafe Storage of Firearms, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Trafficking in a Controlled Substance. He has been released from custody and will make his first court appearance on August 26, 2014, in Dauphin Provincial Court.<\/p>\n Sharon Chartrand is facing charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Trafficking in a Controlled Substance. She will appear in Dauphin Provincial Court on August 26, 2014.<\/p>\n Winnipegosis RCMP were assisted by the Manitoba West District Major Crime Unit, Headingley RCMP Police Dog Service, the RCMP National Weapons Enforcement Support Team and officers from several nearby RCMP detachments.<\/p>\n The investigation continues.<\/p>\n Those who traffic in illicit drugs destroy lives, homes and communities. The RCMP remains fully committed to enforcing laws against illicit drugs to their fullest extent.
