May 21, 2014 marked the 15th annual Arbour Day in the town of Swan River. Committee members and volunteers met under a sunny sky at the arboretum.
\n<\/br>

\n<\/br>The group reminisced about its establishment in 2000, the creation of the arboretum, and the impact the committee has had in greening the streets of our community.
\n<\/br>
\n<\/br>\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The group then traveled to 12th Avenue South and planted a total of 7 trees. <\/p>\n

Students from the SVRSS gathered and planted an additional 2 trees near the fair grounds.<\/p>\n

\n<\/br>
\n<\/br>
\n<\/br>
\n<\/br><\/br>
\nSpecies planted included jack pine, cedar, white spruce, and various hardwoods.<\/p>\n

The Committee\u2019s next major event will be Maple Leaf Day, and will take place in September. <\/p>\n
