Windsor &#8211; D. Bartel<br \/>\n\tRESOLVED THAT the Agenda be adopted as presented.<br \/>\n\t Carried.\t<\/p>\n<p>2.\tS. Windsor \u2013 J. Caruk<br \/>\n\tRESOLVED THAT the Bank Reconciliation for the period ending March 31st, 2014 shall be approved as presented.<br \/>\n\tCarried.<\/p>\n<p>3.\tJ. Caruk &#8211; D. Bartel<br \/>\n\tRESOLVED THAT the Animal Control Officer\u2019s Report for the month of \tMarch, 2014 shall be accepted as presented, a copy of which is attached hereto, \tand;<br \/>\n\tBE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT payment for contract services for Animal \tControl shall be made as per the aforementioned report.<br \/>\n\tCarried.<\/p>\n<p>4.\t J. Caruk \u2013 D. Bartel<br \/>\n\tRESOLVED THAT approval of payment be made for the List of Accounts \tnumbered 5877 to 5914 inclusive, amounting to $37,094.42.<br \/>\n\tCarried.<\/p>\n<p>5.\t D. Bartel \u2013 S. Windsor<br \/>\n\tWHEREAS the attached letter was received by the Minitonas Town Council \tregarding conditions of the sale of Lot 30, Plan 3131, and;<br \/>\n\tWHEREAS the purchaser wished to relinquish the property and return it to the \tTown of Minitonas;<br \/>\n\tTHEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Minitonas Town Council does \thereby instruct CAO, Carolyn Gordon to enlist the services of the municipality\u2019s \tlegal counsel and transfer ownership of the aforementioned property back to the \tTown of Minitonas.<br \/>\n\tCarried.<\/p>\n<p>6.\tS. Windsor \u2013 D. Bartel<br \/>\n\tRESOLVED THAT By-Law No. 1\/2014, being a By-law of the Town of \tMinitonas for the purpose of adopting a Financial Plan for the 2014 Fiscal Year, \tshall be read a second time this 16th day of April, 2014 A.D.<br \/>\n\tCarried.<\/p>\n<p>7.\t D. Bartel \u2013 J. Caruk<br \/>\n\tRESOLVED THAT By-Law No. 1\/2014, being a By-law of the Town of \tMinitonas for the purpose of adopting a Financial Plan for the 2014 Fiscal Year, \tshall be read a third time this 16th day of April, 2014 A.D., signed by the Mayor \tand sealed by the Chief Administrative Officer.<br \/>\n\tBarkowski\tyes<br \/>\n\tCaruk\t\tyes<br \/>\n\tBartel\t\tyes<br \/>\n\tWindsor\tyes<br \/>\n\tCarried.<\/p>\n<p>8.\tS. Windsor \u2013 J. Caruk<br \/>\n\tWHEREAS Clause No. 3 of By-law No. 2\/2007 states that council shall designate \tproperties within the Town of Minitonas to be deemed as \u2018hayfields\u2019;<br \/>\n\tTHEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Minitonas Town Council does \thereby that the attached list of properties shall be deemed as \u2018hayfields\u2019 for 2014 \tand shall be monitored to ensure that they do not become unsightly according to the \trequirements for such property as noted in the aforementioned by-law.<br \/>\n\tCarried.<\/p>\n<p>9.\tS. Windsor \u2013 D. Bartel<br \/>\n\tWHEREAS the Town of Minitonas has been approved for funding under the \tFederal Summer Student Program for one position to start on July 2nd, 2014 for a \tperiod of 8 weeks;<br \/>\n\tTHEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the attached ad shall be placed in the \tStar &#038; Times on June 3rd, 2014 and on Valley Biz from June 2nd, 2014 to June 8th, \t2014 with the deadline for applications to the position set for June 13th, 2014.<br \/>\n\tCarried.<\/p>\n<p>10.\tJ. Caruk \u2013 S. Windsor<br \/>\n\tWHEREAS the Community Foundation of Swan Valley has made tens of \tthousands of grants available to local communities, and need to raise awareness of \ttheir organizations and the need for future financial contributions to continue \toffering these valuable grants;<br \/>\n\tTHEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Minitonas Town Council does \thereby declare the week of July 20th, 2014 \u2018Community Foundation of Swan Valley \tWeek\u2019, thereby supporting their efforts in \u2018connecting people who care to causes \tthat matter\u2019.<br \/>\n\tCarried.<\/p>\n<p>11.\tJ. Caruk \u2013 D. Bartel<br \/>\n\tWHEREAS the Minitonas Town Council has received a presentation and the \tattached report from the Swan River RCMP regarding local policing issues and \tpolicies;<br \/>\n\tTHEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Annual Performance Plan for \t2014-2015 be accepted by council and that Mayor Barkowski &#038; CAO Carolyn \tGordon be hereby authorized to sign said report on behalf of the municipality.<br \/>\n\tCarried.<\/p>\n<p>12.\tS. Windsor \u2013 J. Caruk<br \/>\n\tWHEREAS the community has been adversely affected by recent thefts and \tvandalism, and the Minitonas Town Council has an obligation to the local residents \tand ratepayers to do everything within their power to provide protection and \tmethods of defense against future crimes;<br \/>\n\tTHEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the attached letter be submitted to the \tcourts for consideration of the affects these recent crimes have had on the \tcommunity.<br \/>\n\tCarried.<\/p>\n<p>13.\tD. Bartel \u2013 S. Windsor<br \/>\n\tWHEREAS there has been significant effort and planning involved in developing \ta project that involves the installation of community welcome signs and regional \tidentification signs within the boundaries of all areas of the Swan Valley, and;<br \/>\n\tWHEREAS the Minitonas Town Council supports this project as a means to \tstrengthen awareness and acceptance if the Swan Valley as one functional \teconomic area in an effort to inspire and garner increased support for new regional \tinitiatives;<br \/>\n\tTHEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT we do hereby support application by \tSwan Valley RISE Inc. and the Swan Lake Watershed Conservation District to the \t2014-15 Partner 4 Growth Program.<br \/>\n\tCarried.<\/p>\n<p>14.\tS. Windsor \u2013 D.
