Mayor Meadows called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.<\/p>\n

\nRESOLVED that the minutes of the regular meeting of Council held on December 11, 2012 be adopted as presented.
\nCarried.<\/p>\n
2.\t\tZEBINSKI
\nSCOUTEN
\nRESOLVED that the agenda for the regular meeting held on January 15, 2013 be adopted as presented.
\nCarried.<\/p>\n
3.\t\tSCOUTEN
\nSCHNEIDER
\nRESOLVED that accounts numbered 24452 to 24517 in the amount totaling $46,068.30 be ratified as paid.
\nCarried.<\/p>\n

\nRESOLVED that the regular meetings of Council scheduled for Tuesday January 8th and 22nd,2013 be hereby rescheduled to Tuesday January 15th and 29th, 2013 respectively.

5.\t\tSCHNEIDER
\nSCOUTEN
\nWHEREAS the Municipal Act provides for cancellation of taxes when the municipality acquired land through the tax sale process; and<\/p>\n
WHEREAS the Village of Benito has acquired title to property through the 2012 Tax Sale process;<\/p>\n
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that property taxes totaling $3,971.11 as per Schedule \u201cA\u201d affixed hereto be hereby cancelled.

\nSCHNEIDER
\nBE IT RESOLVED that Policy #525 and #550 be adopted as presented and added to the Village of Benito Policy and Procedures Manual.
\nCarried.<\/p>\n
7.\t\tSCOUTEN
\nSCHNEIDER
\nBE IT RESOLVED that the Village appoint Bernice Bowley of Winnipeg, Manitoba as the Village Solicitor for the Year 2013; and<\/p>\n
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that payment for service will be as per Schedule \u201cA\u201d attached hereto.

\nRESOLVED that the Village of Benito authorize payment of the balance of 2012 School Tax Levies as follows:<\/p>\n
Swan Valley School Division Levy \t\t$10, 324.96
\nProvincial Education Support Levy \t$2,223.15

9.\t\tOFFENBERGER
\nSCOUTEN
\nRESOLVED that the Village of Benito extend the 2006 Agreement made with Louis Delaurier of Swan River, Manitoba to provide Municipal Part 9 Building Code inspection services for the period from January 1, 2013 through December 31, 2013; and<\/p>\n
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 2012 fees as per Schedule \u201cA\u201d affixed hereto be approved for payment.

10.\t\tSCHNEIDER

\nRESOLVED that the year 2012 be the designated year with regards to the Village of Benito 2013 Tax Sale; and<\/p>\n
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT all properties with taxes owing for any portion of the year 2011 or prior shall be offered for sale by public auction at 10:00am. on Thursday November 14, 2013 in order to recover tax arrears and all associated costs; and<\/p>\n
BE IT FURTHER RESOVLED that Taxervice is hereby authorized to conduct the 2013 Tax Sale on behalf of the Village of Benito.

\nRESOLVED that Deputy Mayor Scouten and Councilor Schneider be authorized to attend the luncheon meeting with Premier Greg Selinger and caucus in Swan River on Friday January 18, 2013; and<\/p>\n
BE IT FURTHER RESLOVED that expenses be authorized for payment.

\nRESOLVED that members of Council and the Chief Administrative Officer be authorized to attend the G-7 Meeting in Minitonas on Monday February 4, 2013.<\/p>\n
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that mileage and expenses be authorized for payment.

\nRESOLVED that the Village of Benito place an advertisement to be included in the Star & Times 2013 Bundles of Joy publication.

\nWHEREAS the employee overtime reports for December 2012 have been received and reviewed by Council;<\/p>\n
BE IT RESOLVED that overtime reports be approved for payment as presented.

\nRESOLVED that we do adjourn the meeting at 10:45 pm.
