{"id":12807,"date":"2012-06-21T01:20:56","date_gmt":"2012-06-21T06:20:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/swanriver.valleybiz.ca\/news\/?p=12807"},"modified":"2012-06-20T23:57:46","modified_gmt":"2012-06-21T04:57:46","slug":"town-of-swan-river-minutes-%e2%80%93-june-19th-2012","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/swanriver.valleybiz.ca\/news\/2012\/06\/21\/town-of-swan-river-minutes-%e2%80%93-june-19th-2012\/","title":{"rendered":"Town Of Swan River Minutes \u2013 June 19th, 2012"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/swanriver.valleybiz.ca\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/Town-of-Swan-River1.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"Town of Swan River\" width=\"236\" height=\"144\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1057\" srcset=\"https:\/\/swanriver.valleybiz.ca\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/Town-of-Swan-River1.jpg 236w, https:\/\/swanriver.valleybiz.ca\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/Town-of-Swan-River1-100x61.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 236px) 100vw, 236px\" \/>The Council of the Town of Swan River met on Tuesday, June 19th, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. in the Town Council Chambers with Mayor McKenzie presiding and Councillors Bobick, Jacobson, Whyte, Friesen, Delaurier, and Sakal present.<br \/>\n<\/br><br \/>\nPublic Hearing:<\/p>\n<p>1)\tVariation Hearing No. 3\/2012 was called to order by Mayor McKenzie who advised that the purpose of the hearing was to hear representation for or against the following application:<\/p>\n<p>Application by Second Generation Group to vary minimum site area requirement from 100\u2019 to 55\u2019 to allow bare-land condominiums on Lot 5, Block 1, Plan No. 2315 being 422 Currie Road, Swan River, MB.<\/p>\n<p>There being no persons present who wished to speak regarding this matter the hearing was adjourned.<\/p>\n<p>2)\tRezoning Hearing for By-Law No. 7\/2012 and Conditional Use Hearing No. 2\/2012 were called to order by Mayor McKenzie who advised that the purpose of the hearing was to hear representation for or against the following applications:<\/p>\n<p>Application by Wendy Vanderwalt and Glenda Foster to re-zone a description of Block 60, Plan 914 being all that portion lying to the north of a line drawn parallel with and distant northerly 100 feet from the southern boundary of said Block except Road Plan 1023 DLTO and being 203 Centennial Drive South, Swan River, MB from \u201cRS-5\u201d Residential Single Family to \u201cCH\u201d Commercial Highway Zone and Conditional Use Application No. 2\/2012 to allow a retail fabric store to operate in a \u201cCH\u201d Commercial Highway Zone.<\/p>\n<p>Dale Wiebach, spoke in favor of the application stating it would be an asset to the area.<\/p>\n<p>Councillor Delaurier asked if there would be adequate parking and Wendy Vanderwalt assured him that there was ample parking for their needs.<\/p>\n<p>There being no other persons present who wished to speak regarding this matter the Mayor adjourned the hearing.<\/p>\n<p>Delegation: Dennis Medwid regarding construction and noise by-law enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>Minutes:<\/p>\n<p>1.\tRESOLVED that the minutes of the May 8th, 2012 special meeting and the June 5th, 2012 regular meeting of Council be adopted as received.<\/p>\n<p>Carried:<\/p>\n<p>2.\tRESOLVED that the Agenda for the June 19th, 2012 regular meeting of Council be received.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\tCarried:<\/p>\n<p>3.\tRESOLVED that By-Law No. 7\/2012 being a By-Law of the Town of Swan River to amend the Town of Swan River Zoning By-Law No. 9\/2004 reclassifying Desc Block 60, Plan 914 all that portion lying to the north of a line drawn parallel with and distant northerly 100 feet <\/p>\n<p>\tfrom the southern boundary of said block except Road Plan 1023 DLTO from \u201cRS-5\u201d Residential Single Family Zone to \u201cCH\u201dCommercial Highway Zone be read a second time.<\/p>\n<p> Carried:<\/p>\n<p>4.\tRESOLVED that By-Law No. 7\/2012 being a By-Law of the Town of Swan River to amend the Town of Swan River Zoning By-Law No. 9\/2004 reclassifying Desc Block 60, Plan 914 all that portion lying to the north of a line drawn parallel with and distant northerly 100 feet from the southern boundary of said block except Road Plan 1023 DLTO from \u201cRS-5\u201d Residential Single Family Zone to \u201cCH\u201dCommercial Highway Zone be read a third time and be passed.<\/p>\n<p>Glen McKenzie\t&#8211; Company be received.<\/p>\n<p>\tCarried: \t<\/p>\n<p>8.\tRESOLVED that the Council of the Town of Swan River does hereby agree to increase the annual contribution to the Swan Valley Health Facilities Foundation Inc. for Doctor Retention &#038; Recruitment from .25 mills to .40 mills for 2012-2016 in order to provide sufficient funding to the foundation in their efforts to provide the Swan River Valley with much needed medical professionals.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t  Carried: <\/p>\n<p>9.\tRESOLVED that the Parkland Tourism May 31st, 2012 report submitted by Bev Potten be received.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\tCarried:<\/p>\n<p>10.\tRESOLVED that the Superintendent of Works and Building Inspection Reports be received.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\tCarried: <\/p>\n<p>11.\tRESOLVED that the Handi Van Report for May 2012 be received.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\tCarried:<\/p>\n<p>12.\tRESOLVED that the accounts as follows be hereby approved for payment:<\/p>\n<p>(1)\tGeneral Accounts from Cheque No. 11548 to No. 11630 for a total of $156,896.22.<br \/>\n(2)\tPayroll Account from Cheque No. 2869 to No. 2876 for a total of $94,177.62.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\tCarried:<\/p>\n<p>13.      RESOLVED that By-Law No. 8\/2012 being a By-Law of the Town of Swan River providing for the control of traffic and parking of vehicles be read a second time as amended. <\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\tCarried:<\/p>\n<p>14.\tRESOLVED that By-Law No. 10\/2012 being a By-Law for regulating noise within the Town of Swan River be read a 1st time long.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\tCarried:<\/p>\n<p>15.
