On Sept. 18, at approximately 10:25 a.m., RCMP received a report of a sexual assault against a female that had occurred the previous day at a residence in Swan River.

Officers, joined by members of the Swan River General Investigation Section (GIS), began investigating and identified two suspects, a 24-year-old male from Swan River and a 30-year-old male from Pine Creek First Nation.

The investigation also linked the same suspects to two other incidents that had occurred over the past week:

On Sept. 15, at approximately 8:45 p.m., a 38-year-old male was chased by three males through a field near 4th Avenue North. The suspects caught up with and physically assaulted the victim near the skate park. RCMP were alerted to the incident and transported the victim to the Swan Valley Health Centre for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

On Sept. 17, at approximately 6:20 p.m., a break and enter was reported at a residence on Parkview Drive. Multiple males wearing masks were seen exiting a home with a variety of items, placing them in an SUV, and driving away.

The 30-year-old suspect wanted in all three incidents was located walking on 1st Street South in Swan River on Sept. 18 and arrested without incident.

The 24-year-old suspect was located at a residence on 2nd Avenue South later that afternoon. At approximately 5 p.m., the suspect attempted to flee and ignored police instructions to show his hands, resulting in him being struck by an officer with a 40-mm extended range impact weapon. The suspect went back into the home, then surrendered peacefully to officers shortly thereafter.

Marcus George, 24, of Swan River is charged with:
Sexual assault;
Forcible confinement;
Uttering threats;
Break and enter;
Aggravated assault; and
Resisting arrest.

Jericho Flatfoot, 30, of Pine Creek First Nation is charged with:
Sexual assault;
Forcible confinement;
Aggravated assault; and
Break and enter.

A third suspect was arrested and charged in the skatepark assault. Mackenzie Macdonald, 26, of Swan River is charged with aggravated assault.

All were remanded into custody.
