On July 12, 2026 at approximately 1:20 p.m., RCMP received a report that a 70-year-old female had been robbed while withdrawing money from an ATM at a bank in Swan River.

RCMP responded immediately and spoke to the victim, who said an unknown female entered the bank after she was already inside and grabbed a sum of money from her hands. Once outside, the victim followed after the suspect, asking for the money back. The suspect pushed her, then left the scene.

Officers investigated and were able to identify a suspect. On Tuesday afternoon, the suspect was located at a residence on 1st Avenue South in Swan River and arrested without incident.

Jennifer Chartrand, 40, of Swan River is charged with robbery.

She was remanded into custody
