WHEREAS Bill C-21 makes changes to the Criminal Code and Firearms Act including the provision to allow municipalities to create local handgun by-laws;
AND WHEREAS such provisions would not only be confusing, but also very difficult for municipalities to enforce;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council of the Rural Municipality of Mountain hereby oppose Bill C-21 and the provision of municipally regulated handgun by-laws.
