On Jun 27, 2017 Minitonas Early Years and Minitonas Middle Years Schools gathered together to find out how much money was raised from the Buick Drive For Your Students event held on June 10, 2017. Buick donated $20 for each test drive taken.

Samara Sagert and Gayleen Patzer from Swan River’s Key Chev Olds revealed the final numbers and presented a cheque in the amount of $5,080.

The event also raised $708.50 from the 50/50 draw and $493.00 from the BBQ for a grand total of $6,281.50.

“There are some unexpected gifts that come your way, and for the schools, this was definitely one of them for sure.” Said MEYS/MMYS Principal Mark Simpson. “We are fortunate to have people that care for our schools and the time effort is greatly appreciated!”

The funds raised will be put toward new playground equipment for the schools.
