Once again, volunteers from the Swan River Valley have come together for a successful fundraising event on March 14th and 15th, 2017. Volunteers have willingly given of their time to ultimately aid in the fight against Cancer.

Thank you for the gift of your time and energy to make this year’s Daffodil Campaign another success.

The 900 bunches of daffodils were distributed throughout the valley to homes and businesses. The daffodils were beautiful and brought the recipients a little bit of spring and ultimately raised funds for a whole lot of hope.

Some exciting advances and programs the efforts help to support:

Dr. Shana Kelley, of the University of Toronto, developed an extremely sensitive blood test that uses sensors on a chip to detect cancer mutations. It has been developed as an alternative to tissue biopsies! Now that is good news for all Canadians!

65 clinical trials are being participated in and by Manitobans alone!

Nearly 31,000 rides were provided in Manitoba last year through the Transportation Program – active in more than 150 communities!

101 active peer support volunteers in Manitoba! We have peer support clients using the service in a number of our communities. We have nearly 2,500 more Manitobans receiving support from our Cancer Information Services and online Cancer Connections community.

In Manitoba, alone the support has put to work nearly 90 local research teams since 1998.
