Swan Valley School Division Media Release |
On Friday, June 17th, 2016, just as buses were loading for the afternoon return home, the local RCMP made a decision to place the Swan Valley Regional Secondary School and Taylor School into a lockdown mode.
Communication plans worked well with schools and transportation responding calmly, quickly and effectively.
The RCMP were dealing with a credible threat on the north side of Swan River and felt this call was the safest course of action. RCMP were able to resolve the situation and lifted the lockdown order within approximately 12 minutes.
Thanks to all school staff and students involved. Thanks also to our RCMP partners.
