And once the many door prizes were handed out and all had something sweet in hand the official program was brought underway with Rosann Wowchuk praising Ron for his hard work, and dedication to our community as MLA. “You’ve worked well with our community, overseeing improvements to the community in health services, demonstrated by the recently opened Primary Care centre and in education with the development of the Diesel Mechanic’s Apprenticeships shop at Swan Valley Regional. You’ve done a great job and deserve to be re-elected.”
Ron Kostyshyn then thanked the many friends who helped him in 2011, and were here again today to do it all over again. He commented that being named to cabinet as Minister of Agriculture four years ago was a joy surpassed only by marrying his darling wife Judy.
Ron then outlined the campaign ahead to continue building Manitoba as a leading province in economic growth in Canada with amongst the lowest unemployment rate in Canada.. “It has not been easy, a major flood costing 1.4 Billion in government revenues was not expected – but we did what we needed to be done all while improving highways, educational opportunities and training, retaining and hiring a record number of Doctors and Nurses in Manitoba.
When I met with voters at the doorstep, around fishing holes and in business’s this week I contrast that with the cuts that surely are coming from Pallister and company I see more heads nodding than not.” Our job in the weeks remaining is to focus on the difference of Building this Valley, constituency and Province and not resorting to the Pallister cuts that Conservative brought us under Filman in the 1990’s.”
The crowd of supporters then cheered on Ron as he cut the ribbon and officially declared the campaign office “official open!”
