On Sunday, February 14, 2016 the Special Olympics Manitoba Swan Valley Tiger Fire Floor Hockey team played host to members of the Swan Valley Stampeders at SVRSS.

The Tiger Fire was very excited to be playing the Stamps and the energy level was high as they were seeking a competitive game to prepare for the Special Olympics Manitoba Winter Games in Winnipeg on Saturday, February 20th.

Goaltenders; Riley McKay for Stampeders, Angie Ferland and Kolton Leslie were put to the test all afternoon. Tiger’s regular goalie, Jarret Gingras is out of play for 2 weeks but came out to cheer on his fellow athletes.


The Tiger Fire team had a lot of fun and plenty of exercise battling against the local hockey stars. Tigers Coach June Mosiondz stated that all of the team members contributed and gave 100%.

At the end of regulation the game was 10-10. Despite some very competitive players, sportsmanship prevailed as both sides settled on the tie.

A Big Thank you to the Stampeder Hockey Players who came out to hit the floor with the Tigers.
