Minister Ron Kostyshyn attended the offices of the Municipality of Minitonas-Bowsman on Saturday, January 16, 2016 for the formal presentation of Disaster Finacial Assistance (DFA) funding in the amount of $1.589 million.

The funding was for the installation of a new bridge on road number 152W where flooding in 2012 rendered the existing ford crossing impassible.

Following the presentation, the group headed out to take a look at the bridge.

A local contractor was used for part of the projects as the municipality had requested that local contractors be utilized as much as practical.

The bridge is the second DFA Bridge Project to be completed in the municipality this year with 3 additional bridges approved.
