RESOLVED that the Agenda for the Special Meeting of Council held on Tuesday, June 29th, 2015 shall be adopted as presented.

RESOLVED that the Council for the Municipality of Swan Valley West does hereby agree to hire Kevin Genoway for the position of Spare Equipment Operator under the terms and conditions outlined in the Job Description and Employment Offer attached hereto, and;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the starting date of employment shall be July 6th, 2015 or as soon as can be mutually agreed.

RESOLVED that the Council does hereby approve a transfer from the RM of Swan River – Paved Road Reserve Account to the General Chequing account for the Municipality of Swan Valley West in the amount of $25,980.00 which include the $25,000.00 set out in the Budget for pavement Repairs as well as the Sweeping Required as part of the Crack Sealing Process.

WHEREAS the Council for the Municipality of Swan Valley West, after consultation with many local agriculture producers, has identified the following impediments to the movement of agriculture products on the Swan Valley road systems;
The loss of all but 1 delivery point, creating a situation where over 75% of the grain produced locally must be transported by truck up to 200km to the next nearest delivery point.
This distance makes it necessary for trucks to be loaded to R-Tack Weights, which are heavier than many of the Swan Valley Roads were originally designed to handle.
Many producers are left with no reasonable way to legally transport their products to market.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT we do hereby agree to request a meeting with the Provincial Government to discuss possible solutions to the aforementioned situation, as it is imperative to include our Provincial Partners as owners of Provincial Bridges and Roadways that are key to finding a long-term, coordinated solution for our producers, and;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said long-term, coordinated solution would make much better use of both Provincial and Municipal tax dollars.

RESOLVED that pursuant to Section 152(3) of the Municipal Act, the Council as a whole shall go into camera and close the meeting to the public to discuss the operation & contract for the Swan River Landfill Site.
