Kostyshyn New Minister of Infrastructure & Transportation

Minister Ron Kostyshyn was officially sworn in this morning as minister of infrastructure and transportation and minister responsible for emergency measures following his appointment by Premier Greg Selinger.


Mineral Resources Minister Dave Chomiak has agreed to assume the duties of house leader.

Minister Kostyshyn will also remain minister of agriculture, food and rural development, a post he has held since Jan. 13, 2012.

The minister was elected as the member of the legislative assembly for Swan River on Oct. 4, 2011. Prior to that, he had served as reeve of the RM of Mossey River and on council for two decades, and he also served on various boards including the Association of Manitoba Municipalities, Manitoba Conservation Commission, Intermountain Conservation District, Ethelbert District Veterinary Board, and Farm Stewardship Association of Manitoba.
