One of Swan River’s residents has recently had their work published in the popular Chicken Soup for the Soul book series.
Linda Carpentier’s story “The Best Gift” has been included in the new book “Chicken Soup for the Soul: Christmas in Canada.”
Linda Carpentier received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Manitoba and her Associate of The Royal Conservatory diploma in Piano Pedagogy. Now retired from music teaching, she has more time to devote to her lifelong interest in writing.
“Chicken Soup for the Soul: Christmas in Canada” contains 101 heartwarming and entertaining stories with tales of family, fun, and traditions from across Canada.
From caroling, to winter lights festivals and nativity scens, to feasts and cookie-baking parties, Christmastime in Canada is full of fun and special traditions.
All the stories are “Santa safe” so they can be enjoyed by the whole family.
In order for a story to be selected to be included in a Chicken Soup for the Soul book, it must be an inspirational, true story about ordinary people having extraordinary experiences. It must be a story that opens the heart, rekindles the spirit and helps readers discover basic principles they can use in their own lives.
