While the fans enjoyed the beautiful evening and the weather, the boys were burning up the field, penetrating the visiting Virden Golden Bears defensive line. It didn’t take the Tigers long to strike, scoring only 4 minutes in to the first quarter. As plays were whistled in, the boys wasted no time covering some ground gaining yard after yard.
#32 Brendan Gilroy, who is coming off the injured list, did a fantastic job on offense pushing the defensive line, proving to everyone he is a force to be reckoned with. As the game plays on, Gilroy eventually bulldozes his way through the line and runs for his first touchdown of the season. When we broke at the half, the score was 40-0!
The Virden Golden Bears retaliated early in the third quarter, by scoring their first and only touchdown. As the boys rallied to get back into the game, fighting the heat and the strong offensive line, #89 Taylor Mante does an excellent job on coverage and brings the Golden Bear to the ground, stopping any more progress.
#20 Robin Seib punches through to gain some ground for the Tigers helping to create an excellent field position for #40 Cole Cameron, who does some fancy foot work and mad dashes for the goal line. Ending the game, #6 Clayton Spencer who plays Junior and Senior Tigers football showed no mercy as he grabbed the pass and shot down the field for his first touchdown of the season and is able to cap the final score.
The Swan Valley Tigers dominated over the visiting Virden Golden Bears by a score of 72-7!
The Swan Valley Tigers are sitting with a record of 5-0, and will host their next home game on October 3rd, as we welcome Neepawa to Tiger Field.
