A Regular Meeting of Council of the Village of Benito was called to order at 7:00 pm on Tuesday June 10, 2014 in the Village Council Chambers.

Chief Administrative Officer ~ Pat Ellingson.
Mayor Meadows called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm

RESOLVED that the minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council held on May 13, 2014 be adopted as presented.
Carried.

RESOLVED that the agenda for the Regular Meeting held on June 10, 201 be adopted as presented.
Carried.

RESOLVED that accounts numbered 25378 to 25419 in the amount totaling $30,667.40 be ratified as paid.
Carried.

RESOLVED that the Financial Statement to April 30, 2014 be accepted as presented.

BE IT RESOLVED that the May/June Maintenance report be accepted as presented by the Maintenance Supervisor.

BE IT RESOLVED that the report of the Benito Fire Department as attached hereto be received.

BE IT RESOLVED that the Conditional Letter from the Office of the Fire Commissioner regarding the de-commissing of the sprinkler system in the NWRL Benito Branch be received.

WHEREAS the applicant chosen for the HGT position commencing in May has not been available to work as planned;
BE IT RESOLVED that Morgan Kushniryk be hired for this position to commence at a mutually agreeable time.

RESOLVED that the Village of Benito agree to pay $100 per trailer load of tires that is loaded at the nuisance grounds.

BE IT RESOLVED that the Regular meeting of Council scheduled for Tuesday May 27, 2014 be hereby cancelled.

RESOLVED that the Benito Fire Department Wages Summary for the period from January to June 2014 attached hereto as schedule “A” be accepted and approved for payment as presented.

WHEREAS Valley Lions Recycling Inc. provides a valuable service to our community which has environmental benefits as well as assisting in the reduction of waste management costs;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Village of Benito does hereby agree to fund their share of the cost to maintain the Swan Valley Recycling building and approve payment of $1,338.35 for User fees for the year 2014.

RESOLVED that the Village of Benito authorize payment of the invoices as attached hereto as Schedule “A”.

RESOLVED that the audited financial statements of the Swan Valley Planning District to December 31, 2013 be accepted as received.

RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Benito declare the Canada Day Celebrations, sponsored by the Benito & District Recreation Centre, to be held on July 1st be declared as a community event which will be open to the public; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Benito declare its support of the application by the Benito & District Recreation Centre to hold a Beer Garden at this Public Event.

WHEREAS the May employee overtime reports have been received and reviewed by Council;
BE IT RESOLVED that the overtime hours recorded be accepted as presented and be approved for payment as attached hereto.
