May 21, 2014 marked the 15th annual Arbour Day in the town of Swan River. Committee members and volunteers met under a sunny sky at the arboretum.

The group reminisced about its establishment in 2000, the creation of the arboretum, and the impact the committee has had in greening the streets of our community.
The group then traveled to 12th Avenue South and planted a total of 7 trees.
Students from the SVRSS gathered and planted an additional 2 trees near the fair grounds.
Species planted included jack pine, cedar, white spruce, and various hardwoods.
The Committee’s next major event will be Maple Leaf Day, and will take place in September.
