Town of Swan River Minutes – November 19, 2013

The Council of the Town of Swan River met on Tuesday, November 19th, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. in the Town Council Chambers with Mayor McKenzie presiding and Councillors Bobick, Jacobson, Whyte, Delaurier and Sakal present, Councillor Friesen arrived at 7:40 p.m.

Minutes:

1. RESOLVED that the Amended Agenda for the November 19th, 2013 regular meeting of ouncil be received.

2. RESOLVED that the minutes of the November 5th, 2013 regular meeting of Council be adopted as received.

3. RESOLVED that Council authorize the Superintendent of Works to proceed with the installation of a communication system between the Ross Street Lift Station and the Water Treatment Plant estimated at $7,000.00 plus taxes.

4. RESOLVED that the 2013/14 Standing Committee Appointments be hereby approved as amended.

5. RESOLVED that the Superintendent of Works Report be received.

6. RESOLVED that the Financial Statement for the month ended October 31st, 2013 be adopted as received.

7. RESOLVED that the accounts as follows be hereby approved for payment:
(1) General Accounts from Cheque No. 14032 to No. 14098 for a total of $336,793.48.
(2) Payroll Account from Cheque No. 3190 to No. 3199 for a total of $79,486.58.

8. Councillor Jacobson excused himself from the meeting prior to any discussion or voting regarding Resolution No. 8.
RESOLVED that the quote from The Brick for appliances for the new municipal office be accepted for the amount of $1,199.00 plus taxes.

9. RESOLVED that the Request/Concern Report for October 2013 be received.

10. RESOLVED that the Swan Valley Planning District Board Audited Financial Statements for the year ended December 31st, 2012 and prepared by BMP Chartered Accountants be received.

11. RESOLVED that, pursuant to Section 152(3) of The Municipal Act, Council go into Committee and close the meeting to the public.
