1. S. Windsor – D. Bartel
WHEREAS Mayor, Henry Barkowski is absent with notice from this evening’s council meeting;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT Deputy Mayor, William Robb shall assume the position of chairman for this meeting, and;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT Councillor, John Caruk shall be appointed as the Finance Chair for this evening’s meeting.

RESOLVED THAT the Agenda be adopted as presented.
Carried.

3. D. Bartel – J. Caruk
RESOLVED THAT the Bank Reconciliation and the Financial Statement for the period ending May 31st, 2013 shall be approved as presented.
Carried.

4. S. Windsor – J. Caruk
RESOLVED THAT approval of payment be made for the List of Accounts numbered 5355 to 5399 inclusive, amounting to $29,081.35.
Carried.

5. D. Bartel – S. Windsor
RESOLVED THAT the transfer of funds from the municipality’s Machinery Reserve to the General Operating Account in the amount of $210.91 shall be authorized by the Minitonas Town Council for the costs to ship the new bucket for the backhoe.
Carried.

6. D. Bartel – J. Caruk
RESOLVED THAT the Animal Control Officer’s Report for the month of May, 2013 shall be accepted as presented, a copy of which is attached hereto;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT payment for contract services for Animal Control shall be made as per the aforementioned report.

7. S. Windsor – J. Caruk
RESOLVED THAT Council of the Town of Minitonas does hereby agree to enter into an agreement with the Board of the Minitonas Nursery School Co-Op for storage of their records in the basement of the Minitonas Library Building under the terms & conditions attached hereto.
Carried.

8. D. Bartel – J. Caruk
RESOLVED THAT the Council of the Town of Minitonas does hereby agree to enter into an agreement with the Minitonas Mini Makers 4-H Club for storage of their records in the basement of the Minitonas Library Building under the terms & conditions attached hereto.
Carried.

9. S. Windsor – D. Bartel
WHEREAS the Minitonas Town Council has established an award to recognize special volunteer efforts in the Town of Minitonas;
AND WHEREAS the Council has posted notices around town and has received the attached nominations which they feel fit the criteria for receipt of the ‘Town of Minitonas Volunteer Award’;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the awards shall be presented to those individuals or groups named on the attached Nomination Forms, and shall be presented at the July 1st Pancake Breakfast, and;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the names of the awards recipients shall be kept confidential until the time of the presentation.

10. J. Caruk – D. Bartel
WHEREAS the Minitonas Town Council has determined that, under the terms of By-Law No. 2/2007, the condition of the attached list of properties have become unsightly and;
WHEREAS the owner of the aforementioned property will be given written notice advising them that the condition of said property must be rectified by the deadline of June 25th, 2013;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT, should the condition of the property not be corrected by June 25th, 2013 the Town Council shall provide authorization for the work to be completed and the associated costs of said work shall be billed to the property owner accordingly.

11. D. Bartel – J. Caruk
WHEREAS the Minitonas Town Council has reviewed the applications for the position of Summer Student under the Canada Summer Jobs Program;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT we do hereby agree to hire John Fisher for the aforementioned position under the terms and conditions attached hereto.

RESOLVED THAT we do now adjourn at 10:02 pm to meet again for the next regular meeting of Council to be held on the 3rd day of July, 2013 A.D. at 7:00 pm.
