This event went well again this year. We had singers from North Dakota. One family was from south of Winnipeg but only a few miles north from the US border. One family was from close to Austin, MB, and 3 groups were from Alberta. There were 25 main singers plus a few others who sang a couple of songs. Someone counted and they tallied that there were about 20 different instruments. We had a great group of singers. They presented the truths of the Bible and God’s love in songs and comments in between songs.
We were at the outdoor stage on Friday night and Saturday. Sunday the weather sounded uncertain, and the mosquitoes were pretty bad, so we set up in the hall for the day. This worked well too.
Some of the singers’ teenagers helped with food service, and this was greatly appreciated. They did an amazing job, and saved the organizers a lot of work. Mary Spence once again made a turkey supper for everyone. A huge job well done as usual.
We were privileged to have a table of books, videos etc from Tribal Trails TV.
Thank you to them for supplying these resources. In addition, we also had retired Christian Books distributors there who was selling their remaining books at very discounted prices. Thank you to them for bringing these books, in addition to being part of one singing group.
Thanks again to the town of Barrows for allowing us to use their facilities. We also want to thank God for allowing us to run this Jamboree again this year.
