On the evening of Thursday, April 23, 2026 the Swan Valley Community Choir delivered an impressive performance of three-part harmony songs to an appreciative audience at the acoustically favorable St. Andrew’s United Church. Under the expert direction of Nic Stroud and accompanied by the talented Caroline Zinkiew, the choir showcased their musical competence.

The first half of the concert featured choir members performing songs of faith while strategically positioned in the aisles to maximize the church’s acoustics. One standout piece began with a solo followed by drumming performed by Kayla Peterson. After the last sacred selection for which the music was composed and played by choir member Linda Carpentier, the choir took an intermission. During this time, the ukulele group Highly Strung entertained the audience with four engaging sing-along selections. In the second half, the choir presented four songs from various films, with the first piece accompanied by Jamie Eisler. The concert concluded with a communal rendition of the hymn “Thine is the Glory,” uniting everyone in attendance.

Following the performance, an “afterglow” gathering in the church basement allowed audience and choir members to mingle and enjoy refreshments, a fitting conclusion to an evening of musical appreciation and community spirit.
