The women of the valley hosted their annual event on January 31, 2026 at the Solid Rock Church in Swan River. This venue is very much appreciated, as it has ample space for eating, an auditorium for worship and speaking, and a library for those interested. The ladies are excellent hosts and we thank you again for your hospitality.

We began our morning with a continental breakfast and a visit with friends and acquaintances. Our MC, Jocelyn Beehler announced a few lucky names who received door prizes, before our session began.

Our theme this year was Flourish and the scripture passage chosen was Psalm 92: 12-15. Falon Cooke did an excellent job of expounding on this passage, encouraging each of us to think of the fruit we’re bearing in our day to day living. She read from the passage in John 15: 5 where Jesus identifies Himself as the “true vine”. Believers are the branches that must stay connected to the vine, and remain in His word, to live and produce good fruit. She used the example of her own work in her garden, along with her daughter to give many illustrations of success, and failure. She was able to keep the audience engaged with humor and happy and sad events from her own life, where she knew God was leading her and her family.

After the first session we were treated to a soup and bun lunch, and a few minutes again, to get to know the ones sitting next to us.

The desserts were delicious and served by smiling faces of a couple of the members of the executive team.

After lunch a testimonial was given by a recent Nigerian immigrant sister. She explained some of the hardships she and her people have endured. She was very encouraging, and she said, “always remember that God will meet you in your need”

The afternoon concluded by joining in worship with a team of talented musicians from a couple of valley churches.

Thank you ladies for joining us, and go, bearing much fruit until we meet again next year!
