Large Seizure of Methamphetamine During Traffic Stop

On October 29, 2025, at approximately 12:30 am, Swan River RCMP conducted a traffic stop on Main Street on a truck with three female occupants.

While the officer was speaking with the driver, open liquor was clearly visible inside the vehicle. The 34-year-old driver was arrested under the Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Control Act.

Two female passengers, aged 34 and 48 were asked to exit the vehicle while officers completed a subsequent search of the vehicle. While this was being conducted, the driver became belligerent with officers and needed to be placed in the back of a patrol vehicle.

During the search, officers located a zip lock bag that contained over 250 g of methamphetamine. The community street value of the drugs is estimated to be between $15,000 and $25,000.

The 34-year-old driver was charged with the following:

Trafficking
Assault on police officer
Resist/obstruct peace officer

The 48-year-old was also charged with Trafficking. Both were released with a future court date.
