The Council of the Town of Swan River met on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at 7:00 pm in the Town Council Chambers with Mayor Jacobson presiding along with Deputy Mayor Moriaux and Councillors Bobick, Boychuk, Medwid, and Whyte.

WHEREAS as a result of our Lawsuit investigation, Testlabs conducted a metallurgical study on the structural components of the Credit Union Aquatic Center;
AND WHEREAS the study confirmed severe detrimental corrosion to the metal components on select hanger supports within the basement level of the mechanical rooms;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Testlabs be hired to provide Project Management Services for the complete repair of the pipe hanger issue within the Swan Valley Credit Union Aquatic Centre.

WHEREAS Section 326 of The Municipal Act provides that a municipality may impose supplementary taxes, and Subsection 300(6) provides that a municipality may cancel or reduce taxes, upon receipt of assessment alterations from Manitoba Assessment Services;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the assessment alterations provided by Manitoba Assessment Services on December 21st, 2023 be made to the 2024 Property Tax Roll, with the resulting increase of $14.49 and the resulting reduction of $3.12.
