Confirmed Case of Covid-19 at SVRSS

Swan Valley Regional Secondary School Notification |

On October 8th, 2021, the SVRSS was advised by Public Health of a confirmed case of COVID-19. School administration is working closely with Public Health officials and following their recommendations. Manitoba public health officials have advised of at least one confirmed case of COVID-19 in the school on October 3rd and 4th, 2021 in Grade 9/10 split Classroom when the individual(s) may have been infectious.

The school is working closely with public health officials and is following their recommendations. At this time, there is no evidence of further spread in the school, and students can continue to attend school as long as they do not have symptoms of COVID-19.

Close contacts have been identified and advised to self-isolate (quarantine). If you have not been contacted by Public Health or the school you are not considered a close contact. If your child has not been identified as a close contact, public health officials still recommend that you closely monitor your child for symptoms of COVID-19 for two weeks after the exposure date.

Please note that Swan Valley School Division is not permitted to release the name or any identifying information about the confirmed case of COVID-19 to any member of the school, community or media. Though they have since been cleaned previously, out of an abundance of caution the SVRSS will be doing enhanced cleaning on the affected areas this weekend. SVRSS will be open on Tuesday, Oct.12th, 2021. Take care.
