At approximately 1pm on August 20, 2020 Dr. Brent Roussin, Chief Provincial Public Health Officer made the following announcement:

Due to the increased number of cases as well as community transmission as well as the significant reports of increased gatherings, the Prairie Mountain Health Region is being elevated to the Restricted Level, or orange in our Pandemic Response System, immediately.

This is a rapid changing situation, it will take some time to facilitate these measures and so while the elevation to the restricted level begins immediately, the following restrictions will be implemented on Monday [August 24, 2020].
– group size will be reduced to 10 individuals both indoor & outdoor
– masks will be made mandatory for indoor public places as well as any public gatherings
More details will be coming later this afternoon outlining these measures.

As part of the Prairie Mountain Health region, these restrictions will apply to the Swan Valley.
