Prairie Mountain Health News Release |
Prairie Mountain Health is building testing capacity in the northern part of the region by opening a COVID-19 community testing location in Swan River, decreasing the need to travel for area residents.
The site will operate by appointment only and will open Friday, May 1st in the Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI) service centre at 125, 4th Avenue, North. Hours of operation are 10:30 am to 3:00 pm, seven days a week.
This location was chosen after a successful opening in the Dauphin MPI service centre. Once again, we thank MPI for its generosity, cooperation, and its continued commitment to our communities and health region as we face this evolving challenge.
We remind the public that everyone must contact Health Links –Info Santé in order to be screened and receive notice of an appointment.
Provincial health officials announced the expansion of testing criteria earlier this week. The province has now expanded testing criteria to any Manitoban with symptoms of COVID-19 —even mild symptoms—including a cough, runny nose, sore throat and/or fever, to better determine the spread of the virus in Manitoba.
Any person experiencing symptoms, or who is concerned about their exposure to COVID-19, should call Health Links–Info Santé at 1-888-315-9257 to be screened to see if a test is required.
