On the evening of December 8, 2019 the Swan River NDP held their annual Christmas supper. The Swan Valley museum has been our location for a number of years. This year it was even more festive with the addition of Christmas light on historic buildings in this beautiful setting.
The evening began with a social time followed by supper.
There was a delicious selection of salads, baked ham, local garden vegetables, cabbage roll varieties made from bulger and rice.
A large selection of desserts finished off this wonderful meal.
Sixty people came out to enjoy the evening and welcome our guest speaker Wab Kinew, leader of the Manitoba NDP. Wab was accompanied by his wife Dr. Lisa Monkman and their young son. Mr. Kinew gave a thank you to local candidate Shelley Wiggins for running a good campaign and to those who supported her. He went on to say their opposition party is stronger and plans to focus on health care, education, and agriculture concerns as this term begins.
There was a brief question time afterwards.
The evening ended with draws for a 50/50 ticket door prize, and final bids on the silent auction table.
