The Council of the Town of Swan River met on Tuesday, October 15th, 2019 at 7:30 pm in the Town Council Chambers with Mayor Jacobson presiding and Councillors Delaurier, Friesen, Moriaux, Whyte, Wintoniw and Gray present.

Future of Recreation Commission

WHEREAS the Swan Valley District Recreation Commission believes that the current delivery model is no longer effective to meet the needs of the citizens within the Valley.
AND WHEREAS the Swan Valley District Recreation Commission is recommending an assessment of the current recreation delivery system and has proposed the development of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to guide the review;
AND WHEREAS the Swan Valley District Recreation Commission is requesting all partners participate in preparing the draft MOU;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Town of Swan River agree to participate in the creation of an MOU which will define the scope of work in the development of a new integrated recreation delivery model.

WHEREAS Section 326 of The Municipal Act provides that a municipality may impose supplementary taxes upon receipt of assessment alterations from Manitoba Assessment Services;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the assessment alterations made by Manitoba Assessment Services on October 2nd and 8th, 2019 be made to the 2019 Property and Business Tax Rolls, with the resulting increases totaling $1,923.13
