Parkland Mental Health Holds Annual Chili Cook-Off

The Parkland Mental Health Promotions Committee held their 4th annual Chili Cook-off event at the Elbert Chartrand Friendship Center on Friday, October 11, 2019.

A total of 8 teams representing various local organizations and agencies entered the competition this year.


Approximately 85 attendees had opportunity to sample the various chilis, and voting was held for two categories: 1) Best Overall Chili, and 2) Best Team Spirit.


Pictured above: This year the Friendship Center’s Aboriginal Head Start program team won best overall chili.



Pictured above” The “Spice Girls” Prairie Mountain Health’s Community Mental Health team won for best team spirit.

In addition to the delicious chili, information and resources related to mental health and other programs were available to all who attended. The committee wishes to thank both the Swan Valley Co-op and Extra Foods for their generous donation of supplies for the event.
