The Community Foundation of Swan Valley (CFSV) is pleased to announce the Fall Granting Period. The initial Fall Grant Intake is now open and applications are being accepted from organizations who did not receive a grant during the Spring 2019 granting period.
“We recognize that groups have Spring and Summer projects for which they are not always able to submit an application in advance, to the preceding Spring granting period. This Fall granting period is intended to provide an opportunity for these groups to access funding when they need it.” said Henry Rasmussen, chairperson of the Granting Committee.
New this fall, CFSV is very pleased to highlight the newly created Cherban endowment fund that is focused on Agricultural and Rural Living. This substantial fund will be instrumental in continuing agricultural education, skills training and research, benefiting valley residents now and many years into the future.
The CFSV is a charitable organization founded by local citizens to help people invest in building a community that is a better place to live, work and play. Since its inception in 2005, the CFSV has provided over $690,000 in support to expand local programming, purchase equipment, assist with education and develop or rejuvenate infrastructure across the valley.
Projects must benefit primarily the people of the Swan Valley Community which includes the Town of Swan River and the towns and rural areas of the Municipalities of Swan Valley West, Minitonas-Bowsman and Mountain.
Grants may only be issued to charitable organizations registered with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Groups or organizations who do not qualify may be formally sponsored by a charitable organization.
