Swan Valley Stampeders Media Release |

The Board of Directors of the Swan Valley Stampeders of the MJHL are pleased to announce the hiring of Geoff Grimwood as Head Coach and General Manager.

Chosen from a strong list of candidates, Grimwood, a 38 year old Victoria, BC native, comes to the Stampeders with several years experience at the Junior A level. Most recently, he was the Head Coach and GM of the West Kelowna Warriors of the BCHL in 2018-2019. Grimwood previously held the position of Head Coach and GM of the Kindersely Klippers of the SJHL for three season from 2015 to 2018. Prior to his time in the SJHL Grimwood worked for three seasons (2012-2015) as an Assistant Coach in the WHL with the Victoria Royals. He also worked for two seasons as an Assistant Coach with the Powell River Kings of the BCHL.

Geoff Grimwood is known as a strong leader with a commitment to team success both on and off the ice. The Board of Directors believe Geoff’s experience working in a small market setting with a community owned team will be key as the Stampeders look to build on their most successful season in franchise history.

The entire Swan Valley Stampeders organization would like to welcome Geoff Grimwood to the team and the Swan River Valley. He has signed a three year contract. Geoff will soon be relocating to Swan River and will commence his duties with the Stampeders on June 1st.
