Submitted by: Jessica Lacasse, Health Promotion Coordinator

Social Media Safety talks for students in Swan Valley School Division on March 13th 2019. All grade 7-12 students were able to participate in a fun, relevant and sometimes serious talk about the effects of social media and youth.

Covering issues such as lack of sleep, mental health as well as legal and safety issues the students were able to consider how to ensure they are making good decisions using social media. A parent night was hosted on March 12 2019 with about 18 parents and teachers attending to educate themselves on apps, risks and how to protect their child from risks associate with apps.
