The Board at its February 25, 2019 Board Meeting decided to write a letter to the Minister of Education requesting the closure of Birch River School, effective June 30, 2019.


Students from Birch River School will be enrolled at Bowsman School.

This was not an easy decision for the Board but given the budgetary constraints, the Board felt it had no other options. Transition planning
for students will begin when official confirmation allowing the closure is received from the Minister.
