Whereas Public-Rail Safety Week is to be held across Canada and the United States from September 23 to 29, 2018
Whereas it is in the public’s interest to raise citizen’s awareness on reducing avoidable accidents and damage caused by collisions at level crossings
Or Incidents involving trains and citizens;
Whereas Operation Lifesaver is a public/private partnership whose aim is to work with
The rail industry, governments, police services, the media and other agencies
And the Public to raise rail safety awareness;
Whereas CN has requested Municipal Council adopt the resolution in support of its ongoing effort to save lives and prevent injuries in communities, including our municipality;

RESOLVED that the Council for the Municipality of Swan Valley West, in accordance with Part 6 of the Planning Act, shall hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, September 25th, 2018 at 7:05 pm in the Council Chambers at 216 Main Street West, Swan River, MB. for the purpose of hearing receiving comments regarding the Variation Application received regarding the property known as Lot 4 Plan 3233, 916 Poplar Avenue.

WHEREAS the owners of PT S.E. ¼ SEC. 10-37-28 WPM have made application to subdivide this property, and;
WHEREAS the Council for the Municipality of Swan Valley West has reviewed said application, along with the letter received from Community and Regional Planning dated August 29th, 2018 that is a revised conditional approval and have no objections to the aforementioned subdivision;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED we do hereby approve the subdivision of the aforementioned property, provided all conditions set out in said letter from the Province of Manitoba, Community and Regional Planning Branch are met.

WHEREAS, the Municipality of Swan Valley West does approve a formal letter of request be sent to the Dauphin Regional Infrastructure Office to look into the issue of a 4-way stop requirement in Kenville, Manitoba. This will determine if the 4-way stop is warranted.
