Beautiful Quilts Displayed at Mother’s Day Quilt Show

On Sunday May 13, 2018 Bowsman United Church Quilt Group held a Mother’s Day Quilt Show at Harley House. The Heritage Home in Swan River provided a picturesque background for the beautiful quilts that were on display.

The showcased quilts ranged from traditional to modern in design and varied in size from small wall hangings to queen sized. The displayed items covered a wide diversity of colour palettes and techniques from basic to intricate piecing and applique.

The warm spring weather allowed those enjoying refreshments, provided by group members, to visit on the house’s veranda.

The Quilt Group regularly meets on Thursday and Saturday mornings in the basement for the Bowsman United Church to work on group and individual projects. As with all quilt groups “show and tell” is always a favourite park of the day. New members of all skill levels are always welcome. Plans will soon be underway for the annual Workshop September 29, 2018.

Proceeds from the Quilt Show will assist the Quilt Group to continue their mandate to “Use our God given talents for the care and comfort of others”.
